This Week in Pickleball – RDPC

NOTE This is an update about STAGE 1 Play, and our AGM.

Our Club Annual General Meeting will be held online using ZOOM. Credentials will be emailed out to ACTIVE members using our email system and/or Pickleball Alberta Membership System. Please save the following date and plan to join us online.

Wednesday May 27th. 7:00 PM.

We will be saying thank you to our retiring Directors for their service and contributions. Without volunteers to step up and help lead we would not be where we are today.

Thank You:

  • Val Vollmin
  • Terry Hanasyk
  • Peter Nan
  • Mary Anne Brett
  • Dave Oxley

We have the following individual that have stepped forward to join us on the board of directors. We really appreciate their enthusiasm and fresh insights and skills that they bring. It’s always a healthy positive sign when we have new directors join our leadership team,

Please join us as we install our four nominations for the Board:

  • Rick Foret,
  • Carol Graham,
  • Trina Murias,
  • Fraser Stewart.

Stage 1 opening has been very well received and we thank everyone for adhering to the new guidelines. Just prior to the long weekend Alberta Health approved that groups can increase to 50.

In order for us to maintain the distance required (still 2 meters) we will be using every other court. SO that would be 10 courts.

The Guideline for outdoor play whether at our courts or public asphalt surfaces are STILL same households, or singles. Outdoor activities are to maintain social distancing of 6 feet or 2 meters.

We have received complaints about players ignoring social guidelines at The Pines. Please visit The Alberta Covid Page for Guidance on outdoor activities. While we can not restrict your play or discipline, anyone, we can remind you that STAGE 1 still includes social distancing of 2 meters. We can also encourage you to visit the Alberta COVID information pages and follow their recommendations. As you know we have a responsibility to do everything in our control to maintain your health and safety and ensure that we (Red Der Pickleball Club) meets or exceeds all recommended guidelines.

How and When can you PLAY? Please visit our play time sign up page which is updated regularly. There you can book a court for singles play, and same household doubles. http://www.justpickleball.com/

Thank You to Rob White for administering that process.

If you have questions about the processes we have, the cleaning regimes or sanitizing etc. please contact us or comment below. We appreciate Alida’s leadership in organizing our summer play team, schedule, and cleaning guidelines. We anticipate we will be able to open our washrooms soon.

ONLY Club members can play and book time. NO DROP-On times are available. In addition no guests, or non-members. SIGN Up To Be a member or RENEW your membership HERE. https://pickleballalberta.wildapricot.org/
